Shaun Ho

Shaun is a consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist who works at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne. He also consults at the Paediatric Gastroenterology Victoria and performs private endoscopy at the Epworth Hospital in Richmond.

Shaun graduated from Monash University and completed his specialist training in Paediatric Gastroenterology and General Paediatrics. He gained national and international experience in some of the busiest centres, including the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne and the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto, Canada.

Shaun cares for the well-being of babies from birth through to late adolescence. He specialises in all aspects of the gut and liver. He has special interests in coeliac disease and inflammatory bowel disease. This has led to his pursuit PhD research in finding novel non-invasive ways to assess disease in coeliac disease and in inflammatory bowel disease. He was awarded his PhD in 2022 by the University of Otago, New Zealand. He continues to be actively involved in research and teaches medical students at the University of Melbourne.

Shaun is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA). He is fully accredited to perform paediatric endoscopy by the Conjoint Committee for Recognition of Training in Gastroenterological Endoscopy (CCRTGE).
