Katie Clifton is a Paediatric Dietitian who has had extensive experience working in paediatric nutrition in Australia and abroad. She has worked at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne since 2005, with areas of specialty including gastroenterology, hepatology and intensive care nutrition. Katie has a Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics from Deakin University, and a Certificate in Paediatric Dietetics (RCH). She has also worked in Aboriginal child health in the Northern Territory, and spent several years in the UK employed in community child nutrition, and at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Katie has a long held passion for childhood nutrition from birth through to adolescence. She is inspired by the vital role diet can play when managing gastrointestinal conditions, and is committed to providing practical nutrition care for children and their families.
She is also the mother of three young boys, a Breastfeeding Counsellor with the Australian Breastfeeding Association, and is studying toward her Lactation Consultant qualification (IBCLC). In her spare time she is an aspiring ceramicist.
