Dr Rohan Malik is a paediatric gastroenterologist with more than a decade of tertiary-level consultant experience.
He completed his medical degree and specialist paediatric training at the University of Delhi, before undertaking further sub-specialty training in paediatric gastroenterology at The Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne. He began working as a consultant in 2014.
Dr Malik now works as a Senior Consultant at the Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Liver Transplant at Queensland Children’s Hospital, alongside his private practice.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr Malik is an internationally recognised academic, researcher and speaker. He has authored more than 70 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters and clinical guidelines, presented at national and international forums, and received competitive research funding, including a Wellcome Trust TEAMS grant for research in paediatric inflammatory bowel disease.
Dr Malik’s approach is centred on listening carefully to children and families, understanding their concerns, and explaining complex medical problems in clear, practical language. He sees his role as a bridge between the science and evidence behind a child’s condition and the day-to-day concerns of parents trying to make the best decisions for their child.
As a parent himself, He understands how worrying it can be when a child is unwell. He aims to provide thoughtful, compassionate and evidence-based care, helping families feel heard, informed and supported throughout their child’s healthcare journey.
